WINE AND SPICE AT THE CINNAMON CLUB:
“Our next event takes place on Friday 27th March at Indian restaurant Westminster, The Cinnamon Club. The Boutique Italian Wine Dinner will concentrate on the north and north-eastern winemaking provinces of Italy, among the styles of wine will be: Barbera d’Asti with its dark colour and bright cherry flavours; Amarone, a very rich, full-bodied, higher volume red with notes of syrupy raisin; and Malvasia, sweet and perfumed, made close to the Slovenian border. A floral dessert wine, Piccolit, will also be served bursting with juicy peach and apricot flavours.
Head Chef Rakesh Nair & Wine Buyer, Laurent Chaniac, have once again teamed up to produce a stunning selection of dishes and perfectly matched wines. The four course dinner will provide guests with the opportunity to sample such dishes as grilled Scottish king scallops with dried shrimp and ginger raita & tandoori breast of Anjou squab pigeon, beetroot tikki and sangri beans. Both Rakesh & Laurent will be on hand throughout the course of the evening to share their passion and knowledge for wine and spice pairings and of course answer any questions along the way!”
